Trinity Wins Two in Eagle Classic

Trinity's basketball season opened Thursday November 3 with the annual Eagle Classic, the first official home games. The Macon State Blue Storm and the Free Will Baptist Bible College Flames joined Trinity in this six-game event that stretched over three days, with each college taking two wins apiece.

The Lady Eagles played Saturday afternoon, their first game of the season, beating Macon State College, 75-37.

Tight defense and an effective transition offense were definitely themes for this game. Forcing significant turnovers, the Lady Eagles took a 37-15 lead going into halftime and continued the pressure throughout the second half. From this impressive first win, the Lady Eagles seem ready for a promising season.

On Saturday night, Trinity’s men’s varsity won a decisive victory against Macon State, 95-70.

Finals are looming right around the corner. Surprised? It’s true! Whip out that multi-touch smartphone, tap the calendar app icon and swipe back and forth as you painstakingly count the days.

After four years of the worst fighting humanity had ever witnessed, the First World War finally came to its effective end on November 11, 1918. Although not the longest or most bloody war in history, the “Great War” scarred the collective human psyche like no other event in history.
